NBA Allstar Game

Client: NPi Audio Visual Services

Service: Projectionist

System: The video system consisted of two Barco 30,000-lumen Flex projectors mounted atop a truss structure, utilizing Projector Toolset to converge and align the video projectors. Redundant video playback computers and a video switcher provided streamlined support for the NBA-provided video content.

United Church Of Chris

Client: Kramer Production, LLC

Service: Production and Lighting Designer

I provide production design support for the overall event, including staging, rigging, screen placement, lighting design, and room layout. I worked closely with Andrew Kramer, President of Kramer Productions, to ensure I achieved his objectives and vision for the event, including support for scheduled events, sightlines, and venue requirements. In addition to the comprehensive production design, I provided lighting design support for this event's wide range of lighting needs. The system comprised over 170 lighting fixtures that provided robust and accurate lighting to ensure proper coverage, exposure, dynamics, and flexibility.

Client: Freeman AV

Service: Lighting Designer

Providing exhibit support for exhibit booths can be a daunting task. With so many moving parts, it is sometimes difficult to keep the design accurate with the constantly changing aspects of the exhibit industry. That was not the case with this exhibit booth designed by ArtGuild for the fabricating company Trumpf.

Freeman AV engaged me to design the lighting for this booth, which is a continued client of mine, and exhibit booths are commonplace in my design repertoire for Freeman. The lighting design aesthetic for the Trumpf booth is clean lines, well-illuminated products, and, most importantly, an inviting atmosphere for their guests.

This lighting aesthetic was achieved by utilizing around 250 moving lights and LED strip lights spanning seven complex trussing sections. The workhorse for the lighting design was the High End Systems SolaHyBeam 2000, providing even and strong illumination of the products in the booth. The supporting fixtures, covering sharp-edge signage and secondary illumination, were the Martin Encore CLD and Aytron Dyablo-S.

Roe

Client: Goodman Theatre

Service: System Design and Watchout Programmer

The Goodman Theatre engaged me to work closely with the Projection Designer (Caite Hevner) and rental company (4 Wall) to design a video projection system that would support the creative vision utilizing a combination of rental and in-house equipment. The video playback system of choice was Dataton Watchout, a programming software readily available at the Goodman Theatre and something I have been programming for many projects.

The system consisted of 8 video projectors, four mounted inside the scenic header to cross-shoot the opposite header, four on the balcony rail, two for the up-stage header, and 2 for the lower half of the set. Five Watchout servers provided a signal to these projectors, three primary and two backup servers.
